hi Vic, I am thinking about boredom and blessings and how we all do the dance of “being” verses “doing.” It seems you have found Balance, during your seemingly endless hours on the sofa. That’s quite an accomplishment I would say, not sure if I could do it when recovering from physical pain. I wish I had my family photos organized. After looking thru 21 years of them for the memorial, I realized how much unnecessary fuss we do in life. I realized how much we do deeply change over time. Our thoughts, feelings, awareness, understanding, and connections to a greater sense do change, and in reviewing photos, we have some chaos, as we let go of what was and embrace what is. I look forward to your new book or articles, and I am sending all forms of victory and determination to overcome this latest challenge on your terms. Love, to you and your family,

Dear sweet Vicki,
So nice to run into you today and hear of what you have been doing and dealing with in your life since the last few months that I’ve seen you. I know that you are one of the strongest individuals I have ever met and have incredible family support.
My love and prayers go out to you all. Even though I see you rarely, please know that you are in my heart always!!!

Just read today’s (–er a couple days ago’s) post. I’m behind but will catch up. So hopeful your pain will end soon and the healing will speed up. Boredom may sound good to me right now, but realistically I know that it’s no piece of cake. Glad to hear you have many writing projects to occupy your time. Funny to read about your liking Glee, as I too am a Gleek (although personally I can do without Lady Gaga.) Maybe one day soon I’ll give you a call, too, now that I know there’s a really good chance you’ll be home. Sending more hugs and positive healing thoughts.

Vicki and Family,
I will be sending up joint prayers that include Phil, and my own nephew who is soon to be deployed to Afghanistan. I join you in being proud of the young men and women who choose to serve. Blessings to you, Phil. A choice you can be proud of. Diane

Dear Vicki and family,
Unbelieveable that there was still suture material inside your abdomen; and we hope that the scan will show that all is healing and that you are better. I almost couldn’t believe that those things were happening and especially since you felt you had the best care that was possible in SA, but guess we never know do we?
Anyway, glad that things are getting better and know you’re looking forward to Phil’s graduation and his new assignment to the Air Force. Indeed he must be a very bright young-man and know you & your family are busting & bursting with ‘pride’ as well you should be.
I talked with your parents after church yesterday and they told me they’d be gone to Graduation, but i didn’t really know about your Phil. What a wonderful pursuit of his desires. There’s a young-man from our church who will be going to the Air Force about that same time. His parents are Scott and Cece Sallee. The boys name is Taylor, so just an FYI should your Phil cross paths with him. One of our granddaughters dated an Air Force fellow at CU/Boulder and indeed a fine guy. He’s now flying the F-16 I believe and very bright and focused on what he’s doing. We think a great deal of him and maybe someday we’ll get to acknowledge his accomplishments again, but for now he and our granddaughter are just really ‘good friends’ and he has a ‘career’ to pursue as she does as well. She’s thinking grad school next year in ‘ministries’, so lots of good things happening in their lives. His name is Jonathan Hudgins. Hails from South Carolina and a wonderful guy to say the least, but you never know when paths may cross. Anyway best of luck to Phil and may he be the best that he can be and we wish him well.
If there’s strength in what you all have been through, he’ll be fine.
Our love and blessings to all of you and continue to take care of yourself and you can ‘lay on the couch’ and give directions and orders, this week. Anyway know you have lots of good help and support that will be there to offer whatever is necessary to get you through the weekend and all of the festivities, so you take care and don’t overdue, as you have plenty of support to get things ready.
Congratulations, Phil and we’ll get a card in the mail this week.
Take care, Frank & Katherine Campana

Vicki, sounds like you have the life of Riley! Ok, not really but you sure make it sound good on paper. We always say in our family, “if you are not feeling it on the inside you better be showing it on the outside ~ so put on your lipstick and get going.” This saying does not work so well for the boys, but you get the humor. Megan’s graduation was just beautiful last weekend (thank you again) and the party, while exhausting, was wonderful. The weather held out, the band was great and the friends and family that joined us even better. Now if only we could get our Park City friends to come visit?!?
We will definatly be thinking of you all and especiallly Phil this weekend. Enjoy what you can and I look forward to seeing the photos of your unwashed hair and dyed eyebrows.
Be well my friend, be well.
